ブタ肝臓由来エステラーゼは、光力学的療法における光感作性に与える5-アミノレブリン酸ペプチドプロドラッグの影響を調べるための研究に用いられています。ブタ肝臓由来エステラーゼはまた、冠状動脈および周辺の血管系において、部位特異的アテローム生成遺伝子発現とそれに続く多型の病変発生がどのように相関しているかを調べる研究にも用いられています。
Biochem/physiol Actions
エステラーゼは、短鎖脂肪酸を含む水溶性カルボキシルエステルに作用します。その機能性はSer、His、Asp/Gluの触媒3成分に起因します。
ブタ肝臓由来エステラーゼはエステルのカルボン酸へのエナンチオ選択的変換を触媒します。この酵素の分子量は168 kDaであることがわかっています。それぞれの分子中に2ヵ所の活性部位を持つセリン酵素であり、希酸または濃厚塩中で活性を持つ半分子に解離します。[3]
