ジアホラーゼは、メチレンブルーや 2,6- ジクロロフェノールインドフェノールなどの電子受容体の存在下で、β-NADH またはβ -NADPH のいずれかの酸化を触媒します。 β-NADH かβ -NADPH のどちらかに特異的なジアホラーゼが知られています。Straub のブタ心臓酵素は、天然のジアホラーゼ（β-NADH 特異的）ならびにリポ酸およびリポアミドデヒドロゲナーゼ活性を有していると思われます。

For assay purposes, this product is reconstituted 1 mg/ml in cold 200 mM Tris-HCl buffer containing 294 mM Potassium Chloride, 0.54 mM Riboflavin 5'-monophosphate, and 0.025% (w/v) BSA, pH 7.5. The minimum activity of this enzyme is 30 u/mg protein with a minimum protein content of 50%.
