General description
ヒト血清アルブミンは、酸化、糖化、S-ニトロシル化の3種類の翻訳後修飾を受けます。修飾は、通常球状タンパク質の表面に起こり、立体構造に著しい影響は及ぼしません。しかし、修飾は脂肪酸および薬剤分子の結合には強い影響を及ぼします。
ヒト血清アルブミン（HSA）は、単量体で球状のα-ヘリックスタンパク質で、ヒト血液漿タンパク質の大部分を占めています。この単鎖ポリペプチドタンパク質には、585のアミノ酸残基と17の分子内ジスルフィド結合と1つの遊離システインが含まれています。
Application
アルブミン溶液（ヒト）は、多形核細胞（PMN）培養におけるRPMI 1640培地のサプリメントとして使用されています。また、単球由来樹状細胞の分化と成熟のための培養培地としても使用されています。
Biochem/physiol Actions
ヒト血清アルブミン（HSA）は、血液膠質浸透圧の制御に欠かせない役割を担っています。また、遷移金属の輸送や貯蔵など金属イオンの恒常性の維持にも役立っています。HSAは、幅広いイオンや分子と高い結合能を持つため、生物物理学、臨床、産業の分野において使用される効果的な分子カーゴやナノ媒体となります。ヒトアルブミンとウシアルブミンは、16％の窒素を持ち、タンパク質キャリブレーション試験でスタンダードとしてよく使用されています。ウエスタンブロットや酵素標識免疫吸着測定法（ELISA）の用途におけるブロッキング剤として使用されます。グロブリンフリーアルブミンは、その他のタンパク質が存在すべきではないアプリケーション（例：電気泳動）に適しています。
