クルクミンは、高速液体クロマトグラフィー法によるラット血漿中のクルクミンの測定の標準物質として使用されます。
Biochem/physiol Actions
ターメリックの黄色の元となる天然フェノール化合物です。極めて多様な腫瘍特異経路を妨害する強力な抗腫瘍剤です。抗炎症および抗酸化剤です。癌細胞にアポトーシスを誘導し、ホルボールエステル誘導のプロテインキナーゼC (PKC)活性を阻害します。末梢血単球および肺胞マクロファージによる炎症性サイトカインの産生を阻害することが報告されています。EGFRチロシンキナーゼおよびIκBキナーゼの強力なインヒビターです。誘導性の一酸化窒素合成酵素 (iNOS)、シクロオキシゲナーゼ(COX-2)、および5-リポキシゲナーゼ(5-LOX)を阻害します。
