The OPN (osteopontin) gene is mapped to mouse chromosome 5 E5 and codes for secreted phosphoprotein 1 and is mostly expressed in bone tissue.
Immunogen
purified recombinant mouse osteopontin expressed in NSO cells.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Osteopontin (OPN) serves as a ligand to a number of integrin receptors which are associated with cell motility, chemotaxis, invasion and cell survival. Upregulation of OPN gene is observed in tumors such as colorectal carcinomas, breast cancer and contributes to its pathogenesis. OPN is associated with obesity by mediating adipocyte inflammation and insulin resistance upon macrophage activation. OPN functions as an effector molecule in extracellular signalling and promotes fibrosis and myocyte growth.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline with 5% trehalose.
Analysis Note
Neutralizes the biological activity of recombinant mouse osteopontin using 293 cells.

Chronic graft-vs-host disease (cGVHD) is a multifactorial inflammatory disease that affects patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Multiple organs, including the lacrimal glands (LGs), are negatively affected by cGVHD and lose function due to the resultant fibrosis. An abnormal immune
