一般描述
硫苷脂(Sulfatide)是一种糖鞘脂,在宿主-病原体识别、β-细胞功能、感染、止血/血栓形成、蛋白运输、细胞生长、细胞黏附、神经可塑性、细胞形态发生与信号转导中起重要作用。存在于各种血细胞表面,包括血小板、白细胞和红细胞。硫苷脂也存在于血清中,作为脂蛋白的糖鞘脂。它由聚糖部分、疏水部分、3-O-硫酸半乳糖和神经酰胺组成,其中神经酰胺由鞘氨醇碱基和脂肪酸组成。它是维持髓鞘和轴-胶连接正确形成的重要组分。硫苷脂的生产变异与癌症和免疫病等各种人类疾病有关。硫苷脂的代谢变化会导致突触功能障碍、神经功能减退、炎症和髓鞘恶化。
硫苷脂是主要由半乳脑神经苷硫酸盐组成的 3-O-磺基半乳糖基神经酰胺。它位于髓鞘中,约占脑中总髓磷脂的 4%。

生化/生理作用
硫苷脂在神经系统、免疫系统和胰岛素分泌的生理过程中起关键作用。溶酶体中硫苷脂分解代谢的异常与晚期婴儿异染性脑白质营养不良有关。在卵巢癌中也观察到高水平的硫苷脂。硫苷脂参与中枢神经系统慢性炎症性疾病的发病机理。
