Obscurin, also known as Obscurin-RhoGEF or Obscurin-myosin light chain kinase, is encoded by the gene name OBSCN. Obscurin is involved in myofibrillogenesis and the assembly of myosin into sarcomeric A bands in striated muscle. Obscurin isoform 3 plus ANK1 isoform Mu17/Ank1.5 may be molecular link between the sarcoplasmic reticulum and myofibrils.
