Oxygen transporter, NO scavenger

Oxygen transporter. The Fe²⁺/Fe³⁺ balance is a physiological indicator of blood oxygenation; deoxygenated hemoglobin accessorizes a feedback loop by reducing nitrite to NO, a vasodilator which enhances blood flow to oxygen-deprived tissues.
