Descripción general

Phosphatidylcholine, a major source of diacylglycerol (DAG) is considered as a biological membrane lipid. 20:0 PC is a zwitterionic lipid.
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.

Aplicación

20:0 PC may be used:
  • in the preparation of liposomes
  • to prepare vesicles or supported bilayer to study its ability in spontaneously forming distinct lipid domains, rafts and/or asymmetric bilayers along with other phosphatidylcholine lipids
  • to prepare small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) to study the effect of hydrophobic mismatch on gramicidin conformation and organization
