Allgemeine Beschreibung

Diaion® HP-20 is a non-polar copolymer styrene-divynilbenzene adsorbent resin. It is a polymeric adsorbent used in reverse phase chromatography.[1] It has spherical particles with 0.5mm diameter.[2] Diaion HP-20 has been considered as the most effective adsorbent to eliminate toxic effects in fermentation.[3] It is a synthetic adsorbent used for preconcentration and separation of traces heavy metal ions.[4]

Polyaromatisches Adsorberharz für hydrophobe Verbindungen, zum Entsalzen; Antibiotika; Biomoleküle. Breite Applikationsbasis.
  • Diaion® HP-20 was used as adsorbent for open column chromatography.[5]
  • Diaion® HP-20 was used in purification of glucosides using TLC and HPLC analysis.[6]

  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  3. What king of column can be used for this resin? Could you please explain how to plug the column glass tube? My guess is that a cotton plug and sand will not work well with backflow which is recommended for this resin.

    1. A gravity column is suitable for use with this resin. Product Z163961-1EA is an example of a gravity column. The glass column does not have a frit, so a glass-wool plug and sand are used. To plug the column, gently insert the glass-wool plug from the column top and push it down the column gently using a glass rod.
