Allgemeine Beschreibung

Fibroblast growth factor-19 (FGF-19) is an ileum-derived polypeptide hormone and a high affinity heparin-dependent ligand for fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4). It is part of the hormone-like FGF family. The gene encoding FGF-19 is localized on human chromosome 11q13.3.[1][2][3] Recombinant human FGF-19 is a 21.8kDa protein containing 195 amino acid residues.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Fibroblast growth factor-19 (FGF-19) is involved in the gut-liver signaling pathway and modulation of bile acid synthesis. Once secreted, it binds to the hepatic fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4)/Klotho-β cell-surface receptor complex and activates it. FGF-19 promotes glycogen synthesis, protein synthesis and lipid metabolism.[1][2]

Physikalische Form

Lyophilized from 5 mM Tris, pH 7.6 plus 75 mM NaCl. The protein may appear as a haze or film, which you may not see at the bottom of the vial.

Rekonstituierung

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1 to 1.0 μg/μL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
