Synthetic peptide sequence of ST8 α-N-acetyl-neuraminide α-2,8-sialyltransferase 1.
Anwendung
Anti-ST8SIA1 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
α-N-acetylneuraminide α-2,8-sialyltransferase is an enzyme encoded by the ST8SIA1 gene in humans. It acts as an oligosialyltransferase in a cellular context. ST8SIA1 gene encodes a ganglioside synthase and is susceptibile to diseases. The gene is found to be associated with Multiple sclerosis (MS).
Physikalische Form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex trait with a significant genetic component. Recent work has implicated the ST8SIA1 gene, encoding a ganglioside synthase, in susceptibility to the disease, perhaps with a parent-of-origin effect. In this investigation of 1318 MS patients
Glycosphingolipids from the ganglio-series are usually classified in four series according to the presence of 0 to 3 sialic acid residues linked to lactosylceramide. The transfer of sialic acid is catalyzed in the Golgi apparatus by specific sialyltransferases that show
