Anti-β-2-Microglobulin antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500 and for cell staining at a working dilution of 1:200.
Biochem./physiol. Wirkung
β-2-Microglobulin is a serum protein that forms a non-covalent association with the heavy chain of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I, which is involved in the presentation of peptide antigens to the immune system. Defects in this gene can cause hypercatabolic hypoproteinemia. Amyloidosis is caused upon polymerization of intact β 2-microglobulin in patients on chronic hemodialysis.

Beta 2-microglobulin (beta 2-m) is a highly conserved polypeptide (12,000 molecular weight; 12K) noncovalently associated with the heavy chain (45-48K) of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I antigens. Its synthesis is required for expression of the HLA-A/B and H-2K/D

Systemic amyloidosis with a predilection for bone and synovium may complicate the course of patients on long-term hemodialysis. This form of amyloidosis can be typed as distinct from other amyloid diseases by using small tissue samples obtained by bone biopsy

Two siblings, products of a consanguineous marriage, were markedly deficient in both albumin and IgG because of rapid degradation of these proteins, suggesting a lack of the neonatal Fc receptor, FcRn. FcRn is a heterodimeric receptor composed of a nonclassical
