Allgemeine Beschreibung

Glutaraldehyd ist auch als 1,5-Pendadial, Glutardialdehyd bekannt und ein vielseitig einsetzbares Reagenz mit Anwendungsmöglichkeiten in verschiedenen Forschungsbereichen, einschließlich Zellbiologie und biochemischer Forschung. Es findet Anwendungen als Protein-Crosslinker, unterstützt die Enzymimmobilisierung für die Mikroskopie und trägt zu histochemischen und zytochemischen Prozessen bei. Als aminreaktiver homobifunktionaler Crosslinker dient es für Verfahren wie SDS-PAGE, Färbung oder Elektronenmikroskopie als Zellfixiermittel, wodurch es ein wertvolles Werkzeug in verschiedenen morphologischen Studien darstellt.

Glutaraldehyd zeigt seine Wirksamkeit bei der Vernetzung von Amin- und Hydrazin-Derivaten mit Proteinen und anderen aminhaltigen Polymeren. Insbesondere ermöglicht es die direkte Kopplung von Biotin-Hydraziden an Nukleinsäuren und eröffnet Anwendungsmöglichkeiten bei der Konjugation fluoreszierender Hydrazide und Hydroxylamine an DNA. In histologischen Studien wird Glutaraldehyd zudem verwendet, um Gewebeschnitte zu konservieren und sie für eine genauere Untersuchung vorzubereiten.

Anwendung

Glutaraldehydlösung wird wie folgt verwendet:
  • zur Fixierung von Maus-[1] und Ösophaguskrebszelllinien[2]
  • zum Vernetzen von Amyloid-β-Protein[3]
  • zum Vernetzen von Gelatine bei der 3D-Gerüst-Aufbereitung der Trachea[4]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Glutaraldehyd ist ein wirksamer Proteinvernetzer und findet Anwendung in Techniken wie Enzymimmobilisierungsmikroskopie, Histochemie und Zytochemie. Es existiert unter sauren und neutralen Bedingungen in verschiedenen Formen.[5] Es ist giftig für Wasserorganismen.[6] Seine allergische Natur führt zu Hypersensibilitätsreaktionen. Der Kontakt mit Glutaraldehyddämpfen in bei der Endoskopie trägt zu Colitis bei.[7]

If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
