Anwendung

Ruthenium-tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)dichloride (Ru(dpp)) und Tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)-rutheniumhexafluorophosphat (Ru(dpp)3(PF6)2) haben breite Anwendung als lumineszente Indikatoren für den Nachweis und die Quantifizierung von Sauerstoff gefunden.
Die Fluoreszenz beider Fluorophore (Abs. λmax 455 nm, Lumineszenz λmax 613 nm) wird durch molekularen Sauerstoff stark gehemmt. Sauerstoff kann durch die Messung entweder der Intensität oder der Lebenszeit der Fluoreszenz gemessen werden.
Ruthenium-tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)dichloride ist für (Fiber)optische Sensoren, Studien von Sauerstoff in Haut und Hauttumoren, Messung von Sauerstoffdurchfluss durch die Haut und auch die Visualisierung von Sauerstoff eingesetzt worden.

    1. We have the following information regarding solutions of this dye in toluene. The absorbance (excitation) maximum is at 455 nm, with a fluorescence (emission) maximum of 613 nm. The extinction coefficient of the visible maximum (~460 nm) is 30,000 M-1cm-1.
