Chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZ) is an antipsychotic drug which belongs to phenothiazine neuroleptic group. It is used in treating mental or personality disorders.[1]

Anwendung

Ersatz für Benzidin, o-Dianisid und o-Tolidin bei der Bestimmung von Mikromengen von Hämoglobin und Peroxidase.
CPZ may have been used as standard for the determination of antipsychotic drug at a glassy carbon electrode using chemometric methods, such as classical least squares (CLS), principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares (PLS).[1]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Chlorpromazin zeigt zytotoxische und antiproliferative Aktivität gegen Leukämiezellen, beeinträchtigt jedoch die Lebensfähigkeit normaler Lymphozyten nicht.
Phenothiazin antipsychotisch; D2 Dopamin-Rezeptor-Antagonist, H1 Histamin-Rezeptor-Antagonist; hemmt Calmodulin-abhängige Stimulation zyklischer Nucleotid-Phosphodiesterase und der Stickstoffoxidsynthase.
