General description

Solid phase extraction apparatus uses glass vials or tubes for sample collection and concentration. Some sorbents require large desorption volume than small SPE cartridges in such case SPE tubes were used.

  1. Would these Supelclean Florisil SPE Tubes be applicable for PAHs? And, if so, what solvent(s) would be recommended for loading the cartridges and then eluting the PAHs? Currently, PAHs extracted in DCM are eluted with EtAc, but there is poor retention.

    1. Yes, these Supelclean Florisil SPE Tubes are applicable for PAHs. The solvents that would be recommended to load the cartridges for eluting PAHs are non-polar solvents such as Hexane or Heptane. Using a polar solvent such as EtAc will result in poor retention.
