Application
Sulfur dioxide is primarily used as a feedstock for the production of sulfuric acid (contact process). It is generally used in the synthesis of a variety of sulfur-containing organic compounds like alkyl/aryl sulfonyl chlorides, sulfinates, sultines, and polysulfone.
