Descripción general

Indium tin oxide (ITO) is widely used as transparent conducting oxides. Its major characteristics are electrical conductivity, optical transparency and the ease to be deposited as films.[1]
substrate: unpolished float glass, SiO2 passivated (200-300 Å)

Aplicación

ITO glass slides were used as a substrate for fabricating polymer solar cells based on blends of polymeric semiconductors and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDS). ITO substrates can also be used to design transparent heater arrays by etching the surface of the substrate by a printing tool.[2] ITO cover slides may be used for closed digital microfluidic devices and as transparent electrodes in display and other optoelectronic devices.[3]Some other probable uses that has been reported are:
  • Eumelanin samples prepared on ITO covered glass substrates.[4]
  • Interface windows of the liquid cell for optical beam deflection (OBD) sensing contains a 20-nm-thick indium tin oxide film.[5]
  • Mesoporous TiO2 films were formed on ITO conductive glasses.[6]

Questions

1–10 of 15 Questions
  1. How many plates of glass is 10 PKG?

    1 answer
    1. This product consists of a package of 10 slides.

      Helpful?

  2. Is the glass coated with ITO on one side or both sides?

    1 answer
    1. The glass is ITO coated on one side. The coated side may be determined by holding the glass to the light. It will appear lightly opaque and may display a slight difference in color.

      Helpful?

  3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  4. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  5. Which way was used for the coating of ITO on glass? Magnetron Sputtering?

    1 answer
    1. Yes, this product is prepared by Magnetron Sputtering. Specific details are considered proprietary.

      Helpful?

  6. what is the transparency of this product

    1 answer
    1. Product 703192 is ITO glass with a thickness of 1.1 mm. It should be totally transparent to the naked eye, and the transmittance is 84% (nominal at 550 nm) as per the webpage: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/product/aldrich/703192

      Helpful?

  7. How is ti possible to distinguish the ITO-coated side from the other?

    1 answer
    1. It is recommended to simply use a multimeter to test the conductivity or resistivity of both sides. The conductive side is ITO coated.

      Helpful?

  8. How can Product No. 703192 be cleaned before use?

    1 answer
    1. To clean Product No. 703192, our vendor recommends using a 20% by weight solution of ethanolamine in deionized water, heated to 80 °C in an ultrasonic bath, within an approved fume hood. Immersion of parts in this solution with ultrasonic agitation for a period of 10 to 15 minutes is an efficient method for the removal of any fingerprints, body oils or similar residual organic contaminants. The solution is moderately caustic. Solution vapors can irritate mucous membranes and can cause burns, and should be avoided. Following the immersion cycle, the substrates should be removed and rinsed several times with deionized water, and finally blown dry with a clean, oil-free nitrogen or air source to avoid water spotting. For additional assistance, please contact Technical Services.

  9. Is the ITO applied directly to the glass substrate for product 703192?

    1 answer
    1. No, Product No. 703192 has a SiO2 passivation layer applied directly on the glass prior to ITO coating.

      Helpful?

  10. What is the composition of the glass used for Product No. 703192?

    1 answer
    1. Typical composition of float glass used for Product No. 703192 is 72.6% SiO2, 0.8% B2O3, 1.7% Al2O3, 4.6% CaO, 3.6% MgO, and 15.2% Na2O. These values are not measured for every slide, but are average values.
