General description

Methyl chloroacetate acts as extraction solvent during the separation of neutral compounds with concentration enhancement using coupling liquid–liquid semimicroextraction with micellar electrokinetic chromatography through on-capillary decomposition. It regenerates the PdCl₂-CuCl₂/activated carbon catalyst used for synthesis of dimethyl carbonate.

Application

Methyl chloroacetate was used in the preparation of (carboxymethyl) trimethylammonium chloride esters. It may be used in the synthesis of octakis-(carbethoxymethoxy)calix[8]arene.
