Biochem/physiol Actions
Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide (GIP), a secretin family incretin hormone, is produced by K-cells resident in the gastrointestinal tract and within the CNS. GIP is use to study its diverse receptor mediated functions that range from weight loss to neuronal survival.
