Albumin constitutes 25% of the proteins produced by the liver and is a prominent protein found in the blood. It is a protein of a single polypeptide chain with a thiol group.

Application

• to study its adsorption process on model mica surface at pH 3.5 using the atomic force microscopy (AFM) and in situ streaming potential measurements[1]
• to study its proteolytic activities under reducing conditions[2]
• in the medium for stem cell cultivation[3]

Las albúminas son proteínas monómeras solubles que se encuentran en los líquidos y los tejidos de los animales y en algunas semillas vegetales. Albumin is a binding and transport protein that serves as a protein repository and a carrier for amino acids. Albumin binding dissolves the biomolecules in blood and ensures its effective transport. This also prevents the loss of substance through excretion. Pathological conditions like vasculitis, lymphangiectasia, glomerulonephritis, and hepatic sinusoidal hypertension might result in hypoalbuminemia. This product can be used in the pharmaceutical industry as a drug excipient and to coat medical devices.[1]
