General description

Sodium deoxycholate (SDC) monohydrate is a bile acid salt.

Application

Powerful solubilization agent; used in the solubilization of estrogen synthetase from human placental microsomes.
Sodium deoxycholate monohydrate has been used in a study to assess a method for the immobilization of lipoxygenase in an alginate-silicate gel matrix. It has also been used in a study to investigate the in vitro dissolution of gall stones. [1]
