D-Glucosamine 6-phosphate, the natural form of glucosamine, is a monosaccharide produced during hexosamine biosynthesis pathway by the enzyme glucosamine-6-phosphate deaminase from the two substrates fructose 6-phosphate and glutamine. [1]
