General description

Peel-A-Way® embedding molds are innovative disposable paraffin molds specifically designed for the effortless embedding of tissue samples and cells from suspension cultures in paraffin wax or other embedding media. With dimensions of 22mm x 22mm square and 20mm deep, these molds provide a convenient and efficient solution for histology and pathology laboratories. The unique peel-away design allows for easy removal from solidified embedding blocks, ensuring a smooth workflow in sample preparation.

Application

Peel-A-Way® Embedding molds are used for multiple applications like:

  • for embedding tumor spheroids in 1% agarose gel, for histological analysis and immunohistochemical evaluation of formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor sections.[1]
  • in plant growth studies to securely hold leaf samples in a semi-frozen state within optimal cutting temperature (OCT) compound, ensuring precise orientation for subsequent cryosectioning and analysis.[1]
  • in sample preparation for confocal microscopy, image acquisition, and image analysis of brain tissues. PBS containing 6% low-melt agarose solution was poured to cover tissues into Peel-A-Way® Embedding molds.
  • Peel-A-Way® embedding mold is suitable for sectioning of embryos and in preparation of acute tissue slices of mouse spinal cord.
  • in the preparation of choroid plexus organoids by providing a convenient and efficient method for embedding the organoids in gelatin, allowing for precise sectioning and analysis during subsequent cryosectioning procedures

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. What are the dimensions of this mold?

    1 answer
    1. As mentioned in the 'DESCIPTION' section, the dimension of the mold is 22mm x 22mm square and 20mm deep.

      Helpful?

  2. What is the stability of E6032 products at -80 degrees Celsius? Additionally, I would like to know if these products come with a top or cover.

    1 answer
    1. The molds are typically used for frozen sectioning, indicating a temperature range of -20°C to -25°C. There is no stability testing performed on these molds. There are no lids available. The mounting media itself acts as a barrier between the tissue and the external air.
