Sodium iodate (NaIO₃) is colorless sodium salt having rhombic crystals. It exhibits oxidizing properties. In nature, it is found in Chile saltpeter.

Applicazioni

Sodium iodate may be employed as a starting reagent in the preparation of iodine and its derivatives. It may be employed as a catalyst in the synthesis of bis-indol.
