The combination of particle size range, pore size, and surface area has been found to be suitable for compound separations in a variety of flash and column chromatography applications.
Is any pretreatment required before using Product No. S9258?
Some silica applications will work best if the silica is dried at 150-160 °C to remove excess water. This process is sometimes called activation and may improve separation of compounds. Most silicas contain 10-20% water unless carefully handled to minimize water uptake over time.
