Descrizione generale

Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an acidic phospholipid.[1] Approximately 15–33 mol% of PS is present in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane.[2]

Applicazioni

06:0 PS may be used to study its effect on α-syn (α-synuclein) oligomerization by DA (dopamine)[3] and as a phospholipid substrate to determine the kinetic parameters for phospholipase C by chromogenic assay.[4] It has also been used in the preparation of phospholipid vesicles.[5]

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Phosphatidylserine (PS) participates in several signaling pathways.[1] This membrane phospholipid controls the Akt (protein kinase B) phosphorylation process.[6]
