Neutral Red is a cationic dye that is used for nuclear counterstaining in biological research. It also serves as a pH indicator in analytical laboratories. On decomposition, neutral red dye releases carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides, and hydrogen chlorides. Therefore, this dye is considered toxic and is recommended to remove before discharge into receiving streams.
Application
Neutral Red Solution (0.33%) has been to stain viable cells and measure cell viability. It has also been used as a component of culture medium for enzymatic digestion of ovarian medulla tissue to extract follicles.

COVID-19 induces a robust, extended inflammatory "cytokine storm" that contributes to an increased morbidity and mortality, particularly in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Macrophages are a key innate immune cell population responsible for the cytokine storm that has been
In this work, hybrid compounds 1-4 obtained by conjugation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac, with natural molecules endowed with antioxidant and antiproliferative activity were prepared. The antiproliferative activity of these hybrids was evaluated on immortalized human keratinocyte (HaCaT) cells
