Greener Alternative Product

Autre catégorie plus écologique

Description générale

β -Glucanase represents a group of carbohydrate enzymes which break down glycosidic bonds within beta-glucan.[1] It forms the main constituent of fungal cell walls and could be a potential structural and storage polysaccharide of marine macro-algae. It has the ability to degrade fungal cell walls and may be involved in defense mechanism of plants against pathogenic fungi.[1]
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency and waste prevention when used in cellulosic ethanol research. For more information see the article in biofiles.

Application

β -Glucanase was used as a cellulase enzyme in the combined biological and chemical pretreatment method for lignocellulosic ethanol production from energy cane. It was also used in the enzymatic saccharification of cellulose and production of ethanol. [2]

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

A mixture composed mainly of β-1→3 / 1→4-glucanase, xylanase, and cellulase activities. β-glucosidase, β-xylosidase, α-L-arabinofuranosidase, amylase, and protease activities are also present.[3][4]

The fungal cell wall is a complex structure composed of chitin, glucans and other polymers, and there is evidence of extensive cross-linking between these components. The wall structure is highly dynamic, changing constantly during cell division, growth and morphogenesis. Hydrolytic

Trichoderma spp. are widely used as commercial biofungicides, and most commercial formulations are conidia based. Identification of genes that regulate conidiation would thus be of help in genetic reprogramming of these species to optimize sporulation. In this study, we constructed

In vitro evolution methods are often used to modify protein with improved characteristics. We developed a directed evolution protocol to enhance the thermostability of the beta-1,3-1,4-glucanase. The thermostability of the enzyme was significantly improved after two rounds of directed evolution.

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. How much protease activity is present?

    1 answer
    1. The minimum activity of this ?-glucanase is 1 unit per milligram. The activity varies from lot to lot and is reported in the Certificate of Analysis. This product has not been tested for any additional protease activity. Please see the link below to review a sample or lot specific Certificate:
