Allgemeine Beschreibung

Lactosyl sphingosine is a glycosylsphingosine (Lyso-GSL), which is found in bovine brain white matter extract.[1]

Anwendung

Lactosyl(β) Sphingosine (d18:1) or D-lactosyl-β1-1′-D-erythro-sphingosine has been used as an internal standard for the quantification of psychosine using tandem mass spectrometry.[2][3] It may be used to screen lipids that rapidly and reversibly alter transepithelial electrical resistance (TER) or tight junction (TJ) permeability in epithelial tissue.[4] It may also be used as a standard to determine the extent of recovery of lyso-neutral glycosphingolipids (lyso-n-GSLs) from the Sephadex column.[5]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Lactosyl sphingosine exhibits better hemolytic activity than lysolecithin.[6]
