However, it is insoluble in ethanol. It is the source of Magnesium and sulfur.

It was embedded in the polymeric matrix to form a foam for energy storage which prevents issue of swelling, agglomeration, and/or deliquescence of the salt during its de/hydration process. [,] Researchers are developing new adsorbents for removing toxic dyes from wastewater using Magnesium Sulfate heptahydrate. It is essential for creating porous MgAl-layered double hydroxide (LDH)/carbon fiber composites and MgFe2O4/γ-Fe2O3 magnetic microspheres. These composites effectively adsorb Congo red dye through a combination of biotemplating and pollen template.[,]
