Application
- Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for forensic analysis: LSD-D₃ is utilized as an internal standard in the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry determination of LSD and its metabolites in forensic samples, enhancing accuracy and precision in the analytical results (Johansen and Jensen, 2005).
- Isotope dilution mass spectrometry in urine testing: Employed in the high-performance liquid chromatography-isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) method, LSD-D₃ serves as a crucial internal standard for the quantification of lysergide (LSD) in urine, aiding in precise and accurate drug testing (White et al., 1999).
- Automated extraction and LC/MS/MS confirmation: LSD-D₃ is used in the automated extraction of lysergic acid diethylamide from various biological matrices, followed by confirmation using LC/MS/MS. This application highlights its role in improving the efficiency and reliability of toxicological analyses (de Kanel et al., 1998).
