Description générale

Lysophosphatidic acid (Lyso PA) is a water-soluble lipid, localized to all cells and tissues in mammals.

Application

17:1 Lyso PA or 1-(10Z-heptadecenoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (ammonium salt) has been used as an internal standard for unsaturated lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) ester and cyclic LPA ethers in reversed-phase ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS/MS).

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Lysophosphatidic acid (Lyso PA) is considered as a biological modulator of various functions in the cell. It is a potent signaling molecule with growth-factor-like actions. Lyso PA regulates cell proliferation, survival, cytoskeletal modification and calcium influx. It is associated with smooth-muscle contraction and platelet aggregation. It is also known to regulate blood pressure. Lyso PA possess extensive biological actions and is involved in the progression of several human cancer.
