Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

A pancreatina contém componentes enzimáticos, incluindo tripsina, amilase e lipase, ribonuclease e protease, produzidos pelas células exócrinas do pâncreas suíno. Esta combinação de enzimas permite hidrolisar proteínas, amido e gorduras. A pancreatina converterá no mínimo 25 vezes seu peso de amido de batata em carboidratos solúveis em 5 minutos em água a 40 °C, digerirá no mínimo 25 vezes o seu peso de caseína em 60 minutos em pH 7,5 a 40 °C e liberará, no mínimo, microequivalentes de ácido por min por mg de pancreatina de azeite de oliva em pH 9,0 a 37 °C.

According to the USP monograph for Pancreatin, the 1X minimum specification is 25 USP units amylase, 2 USP units lipase, and 25 USP units protease per milligram. The calculated protease activity for the 4X preparation then, would be at least 100 units per milligram. This is a calculated value based on the USP monograph and are not reported separately on the Certificate of Analysis.
