Descrição geral

Amphetamine, a central nervous system stimulant, belongs to the phenethylamine clas. It is found in ADHD-treatment drugs such as Adderall®, Vyvanse®, and ProCentra®. It is also used for the treatment of narcolepsy. Because of its stimulant effect, amphetamine is used recreationally as a performance-enhancer and illicit drug. This stable-labeled internal standard is suitable for quantitation of amphetamine levels in urine, serum, or plasma by LC/MS or GC/MS for urine drug testing, clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, or sports testing.

Its stable isotopic label allows for the tracking of amphetamine metabolites in complex biological matrices, offering insights into drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (Alhazmi et al., 2020).

  • Deuterated amphetamine in analytical chemistry: As a high-purity analytical reference material, amphetamine-d5 is used to calibrate and validate chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods.
