General description

Native E. coli β-galactosidase. Inducible enzyme not found in eukaryotic cells that is used as a reporter gene. Used to assess efficiency of transfection. Also used in ELISA and immunocytochemical techniques. Histochemical substrates include X-Gal (Cat. No. 203782).
