Biochem/physiol Actions

Endogene β-Aminosäure, bei der es sich um einen nicht-selektiven Agonisten an Glycin-Rezeptoren und einen Liganden für den G-Protein-gekoppelten Orphan-Rezeptor, TGR7 (MrgD), handelt. β-Alanin ist eine Komponente von Pantothensäure.

Diese endogene β-Aminosäure ist ein unselektiver Agonist von Glycin-Rezeptoren und ein Ligand des G-Protein-gekoppelten Orphan Rezeptors TGR7 (MrgD). Der β-Alaninfluss spielt eine zellschützende Rolle indem er die osmotische Stabilität von Meeresorganismen, preimplantation-Mausembryos und Säugerzellen unter hypoxischem Stress stabilisiert.
