Allgemeine Beschreibung

Cholecalciferol (D3) is a fat soluble vitamin, and is one of the forms of vitamin D, synthesized in human skin on exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight, or it can also be obtained from food. It is found to be essential in humans for maintaining normal calcium metabolism.

Anwendung

Cholecalciferol (D3) may be used as an analytical reference for the quantification of the analyte in different food matrices using different chromatography techniques.

Vitamin D agiert durch einen Rezeptor, der ein Mitglied der ligandenabhängigen Transkriptionsfaktor-Obergruppe ist. Es moduliert das Wachstum und die Differenzierung von normalen Zellen und Krebszellen. Hat wachstums- und Metastasenbildungs-hemmende Effekte auf Brust-, Dickdarm- und Prostatakrebszellen. Aktivierte Vitamin D-Rezeptoren in Darm- und Knochenzellen halten die Calciumabsorption und die Homöostasie aufrecht.
