Allgemeine Beschreibung

Tris is an established basimetric standard and buffer used in biochemistry and molecular biology.[1] It may be used by itself as a buffer or as a component of mixed buffer formulations, such as Tris-EDTA (TE) buffer, Tris-acetate-EDTA (TAE) buffer, Tris-borate-EDTA (TBE) buffer, etc.[2] It is pure, essentially stable, relatively non-hygroscopic and has a high equivalent weight.[3]

Anwendung

Tris base has been used:
  • As a component of lysis buffer for cell disruption[4][5]
  • In the preparation of TBE solution for PAGE (polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis)[6][5]
  • In studies of double stranded complexes of peptide nucleic acids (PNA) and their complementary DNA sequences, by use of anion exchange HPLC[7]
  • In capillary electrochromatography and UV analysis of tocopherols and tocotrienols[8]

Die pH-Werte aller Puffer sind temperatur- und konzentrationsabhängig. Bei Tris-Puffern steigt der pH-Wert um etwa 0,03 Einheiten pro °C Temperaturabfall und fällt 0,03-0,05 Einheiten pro Zehnfachverdünnung.
Verwenden Sie für präzise Anwendungen ein sorgfältig kalibriertes pH-Messgerät mit einer Glas/Kalomel-Kombielektrode.

  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature.   2. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

    1. This product may be stored at room temperature. For products with no specified storage temperature given on the label or product page, ambient storage may be assumed. Products that require controlled temperature storage, such as refrigeration or freezer conditions, storage temperatures are published on the product label, Certificate of Analysis, the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
