HLA class II histocompatibility antigen gamma chain isoform b, also known as CD74, is a transmembrane protein which, on antigen presenting cells, is the invariant chain that chaperones MHC class II dimers from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell surface. CD74 is expressed by cells of both T lymphocyte and B lymphocyte lineages. It is upregulated in several cancers and is also expressed by nonimmune cells during inflammation. Recombinant human CD74 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

To be transmitted by its mosquito vector, dengue virus (DENV) must infect midgut epithelial cells, replicate and disseminate into the hemocoel, and finally infect the salivary glands, which is essential for transmission. The extrinsic incubation period (EIP) is very relevant

Melanoma is believed to be a highly immunogenic tumor and recent developments in immunotherapies are promising. IFN-γ produced by immune cells has a crucial role in tumor immune surveillance; however, it has also been reported to be pro-tumorigenic. In the

During fertilization in Chlamydomonas, gametes of opposite mating types interact with each other through sex-specific adhesion molecules on their flagellar surfaces. Flagellar adhesion brings the cell bodies of the gametes into close contact and initiates a signal transduction pathway in

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) accounts for one of the first cytokine activities to have been described, and it has emerged recently to be an important regulator of innate and adaptive immunity. MIF is an upstream activator of monocytes/macrophages, and
