Biochem/physiol Actions

Dutasterid ist ein starker dualer 5α-Reduktasehemmer der Isoenzymtypen 1 und 2 (IC₅₀ = 6 nM 5-AR1; 7 nM 5-AR2). Dutasterid blockiert die Umwandlung von Testosteron in Dihydrotesteron und wird zur klinischen Behandlung von benigner Prostatahyperplasie (BPH) angewendet.
