General description
Glutamat ist eine nicht-essenzielle Aminosäure. Sie agiert als ein primärer exzitatorischer Neurotransmitter. Bei schwerem Trauma, großen chirurgischen Eingriffen, Sepsis und Knochenmarktransplantationen fungiert Glutamat als eine essenzielle Aminosäure.
Application
L-Glutamatoxidase aus Streptomyces sp. wurde zur Bestimmung der Enzymaktivität von immobilisierter Glutamatoxidase (GOx) verwendet. Sie wird auch als Komponente von Bildgebungspuffer für Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM) eingesetzt.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Wichtiges Enzym bei der Synthese oder dem Abbau von Glutaminsäure; überträgt ein Amin an α-Ketoglutarsäure, um L-Glutaminsäure zu bilden, oder es deamidiert L-Glutaminsäure.
L-Glutamatoxidase katalysiert die Umwandlung von L-Glutamat zu 2-Oxoglutarat.
Other Notes
Eine Einheit bildet bei einem pH-Wert von 7,4 und 30 °C je Minute 1,0 μmol α-Ketoglutarsäure aus L-Glutaminsäure.
