General description

α-Amylase ist der Sekretionsprotein-Hauptbestandteil des Speichels. Sie enthält 496 Aminosäuren und hat zwei Isoformen: glykosyliert und nicht glykosyliert. α-Amylase-Gen ist auf dem menschlichen Chromosom 1p21.1 lokalisiert. α-Amylase wird hauptsächlich im Pankreas und Speichel erzeugt.
Application
αAmylase aus menschlichem Speichel wird für Tests von α-Amylase-Inhibitoren mittels HPLC (Hochleistungsflüssigkeitschromatographie) eingesetzt. Darüber hinaus wird es zur Untersuchung der Verdaulichkeit von humanen Milch-Oligosacchariden (HMO) verwendet.[1]
Biochem/physiol Actions
α-Amylase katalysiert die Hydrolyse einer α-1,4-glycosidischen Bindung in Oligosacchariden. Sie spielt beim anfänglichen Verdau von Stärke, Glycogen und Polysacchariden eine entscheidende Rolle. Ein erhöhter Amylase-Spiegel in Serum wird mit akuter Pankreatitis in Verbindung gebracht.

The exact amount is determined by the units/mg protein listed on the Certificate of Analysis. For example, the lot SLCN0121 tested at 1474 units per milligram protein. The total amount of the amylase (mg) in the bottle for the 100 unit package contains 0.07 mg, the 500 unit package contains 0.34 mg, and the 2500 unit package will contain 1.70 mg of protein. This lot is 11.8% protein. These values will change from lot to lot, but the actual mass in the bottles remains low. Other products, such as A4551, are sold by weight.
