Beschreibung

General description

Carnosol is a naturally occurring phyto polyphenolor phenolic diterpene, found in rosemary, which can show a broad spectrum of applications as a an antioxidant, anticancer agent and anti-inflammatory agent.

Carnosol ist eins der phenolischen Antioxidantien, die in Extrakten von Rosmarin (Rosmarinus officinalis) vorkommen. Carnosol hemmt die Bildung von Tumoren, die bei Karzinogenese-Modellen in Mäusen durch Reizstoffe wie TPA und DMBA ausgelöst wird. Die wirksame Dosis soll topisch 1-10 μM, oder wenn sie zu Überständen kultivierter Zellen gegeben wird 6 μg/ml sein. Die Zugabe von 1 Gew.% Rosmarin-Extrakt zur Nahrung senkt die Häufigkeit von DMBA-DNA-Addukten.
