BLR ist ein recA^--Derivat von BL21, das die Ausbeute an Plasmidmonomeren verbessert und zur Stabilisierung von Zielplasmiden beitragen kann, die repetitive Sequenzen enthalten oder deren Produkte den Verlust des DE3-Prophagen verursachen können (1, 2).

DE3 weist darauf hin, dass der Wirt ein Lysogen von λDE3 ist und daher eine chromosomale Kopie des T7-RNA-Polymerase-Gens enthält, das durch den lacUV5-Promoter kontrolliert wird. Solche Stämme eignen sich zur Herstellung von Protein aus Zielgenen, die in pET-Vektoren kloniert werden, wobei IPTG als Induktor verwendet wird.

BLR ist ein recA-Derivat von BL21, das die Ausbeute an Plasmidmonomeren verbessert und zur Stabilisierung von Zielplasmiden mit repetitiven Sequenzen beitragen kann.
