Is this product absolutely only composed of 8-carbons on the long alkyl chains - making it truly methyltrioctylammonium chloride and not methyltricapryl- or methyltrialkyl- (C8-C10) ammonium chloride? Thanks!

Methyltrioctylammonium chloride is not listed as a mixture of C8 and C10 chains, indicating that it is composed of 8-carbon chains. In contrast, Aliquat® 336 (product 205613) is a mixture of C8 and C10 chains, with C8 predominating. As it is an unspecified quaternary ammonium compound, tri-C8-10-alkylmethyl chlorides are included. Both Trioctylmethylammonium chloride and Tricaprylmethylammonium chloride are synonyms of Methyltrioctylammonium chloride.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. Hi! What gloves are appropriate whilst handling methyltrioctylammonium chloride? The SDS only says gloves are "required" and fails to adress any actual requirements/standards.

The type of gloves recommended to handle this product are KCL 741 Dermatril® L.
