N,N,N′,N′-Tetramethyl-1,3-propanediamine (TMPDA) may be used:
  • As a catalyst for the Baylis-Hillman reaction of cycloalkenones.

  • As a ligand (L) for the preparation of dinuclear μ-carbonato-dicopper(II) species.
