Water-soluble 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (hp-beta-CyD), a cyclic and nonreducing oligosaccharide, was used to enclose the hydrophobic guest molecules ferrocene (FeCp2) and 1,1'-dimethylferrocene (DMFeCp2) to form a water-soluble complex. At high concentrations (300 mM), hp-beta-CyD enclosed up to 100 mM FeCp2 or DMFeCp2.

The relative stabilities of different ferricinium cations were studied in buffer or serum-containing solution and in vivo and compared with their cytostatic effects in cultures of Yoshida ascites tumor cells. Although the ferricinium cation itself was the most unstable cation
This article describes the research investigations on the development of the amperometric biosensors based on mediated bioelectrochemistry. The mediated bioelectrochemistry involving horseradish peroxidase and glucose oxidase within the graphite paste is reported. The enzyme horseradish peroxidase together with electrochemical mediator

Inclusion complexes of 1,1'-dimethylferrocene (DMFe) with alpha-, 2-hydroxypropyl-beta- or gamma-cyclodextrins were formed in aqueous systems. For the first time, the interacting DMFe-cyclodextrin systems have been characterized using cyclic voltammetry which enabled the estimation of the complexation order, the formation constant
Miniature, amperometric glucose sensors were constructed using entrapped 1,1'-dimethylferrocene to mediate electron transfer between immobilised glucose oxidase and a carbon base electrode. Electrodes were calibrated in buffered glucose solutions and then implanted in the subcutaneous tissue of anaesthetised, non-diabetic pigs.
