General description

Cystamine has radiation-protective propetries and can be used to prevent normal tissues from radiation damage in clinical radiation therapy.

Application

Cystamine sulfate hydrate has been used for attaching PPO (polyphenol) on to gold nanoparticles while developing biosensor for the determination of sulfite in white and red wine samples. It may be used as starting reagent in the synthesis of cystamine bis(5-aminotetrazolate).
